Jingle bells, Jingle bells

O Natal está mesmo aí à porta….Ok. Não está meeeeeeesmo à porta, mas quem quer fazer os presentes à mão para oferecer e vender, parece mesmo que é amanhã. Por isso mesmo, ando em pleno processo criativo e tenho-me inspirado em imensos lados. Um pouco de Martha Stewart que é sempre importante, um pouco de Marie Claire Idées e, sem falta, revistas como a Vogue, a Blueprint e muitas outras. O melhor disto tudo é que as retrosarias da baixa parece que chama por nós, especialmente a Adriano Coelho que me lembra sempre a loja ideal: é que eles sabem mesmo sobre aquilo que vendem… já não há lojas assim…. Christmas is already here….OK. Not already, but almost, for some of us that want to sell and give all the presents handmade. Simple sewing

Um óptimo livro quer para principantes como para avançados, Lotta Jandsdotter dá imensos projectos com diferentes níveis de dificuldade. Aventais, sacos (como este), pegas ou um saco para o sticky mate do ioga são alguns dos projectos que se podem encontrar. De referir que alguns projectos têm já os modelos feitos (que se encontram numa bolsa no livro), mas outros é preciso desenhar consoante as medidas dadas.

A great book for beginners and more advanced sewers, Lotta Jandsdotter offers lots of projects with different levels of difficulty. Aprons, bags (like this one), pan holders or a bag for the yoga sticky mate are some of the projects than you will be able to find here. Some of the projects have a pattern (real size), others you have to make it.

Recovering a chair / Recuperar uma cadeira

Há cadeiras assim. Que vão para o lixo sem se saber muito bem porquê...ou simplesmente ficam esquecidas e nunca mais recuperam. Também há cadeiras que sofrem de amnésia e deixam de saber para que servem. Esta foi apanhada do lixo mesmo ao pé de minha casa. O meu marido (com alguns conhecimentos de carpintaria) recuperou-a. Pintei-a de branco e ainda está a recuperar da operação (leia-se a secar a tinta). O melhor de tudo é que com alguns parafusos e muita cola de madeira está de novo em condições para voltar ao activo. Com tantas cadeiras para recuperar fiz alguma investigação e descobri a revista CDéco (francesa) que tem uma série de projectos muito bem explicados. Mais fotos da recuperação aqui.
There are chairs like this one. They to go the garbage not knowing why... they simply get forgotten and never recover. There are also chairs that suffer from amnesia and forget why they exist. This one was recollected from the garbage near my home. My husband recovered it (with some knowledge in carpentry) and I painted it on white. It's still recovering from the operation (drying the paint). The best is that with some screws and many wood glue it's again operational. With so many chairs to recover I did some research and found CDéco magazine (French) thas has some really good tutorials. For more photos go here.
