O que nos torna únicos? What makes us unique?

Confesso.

I must confess. I went to New York in March (don't miss the Kelly and Ping Soho restaurant) and only now I’m writing about it. This time I was more responsive to the window’s shops and I happened to find out about Kenneth Cole campaign. The campaign defends that appearance can be a defining characteristic for us all but it’s the ability to think differently that really makes a difference. To support this campaign the brand developed a series of stories. Can’t miss it.
Also in the context of story telling I found the Penguin website - We Tell Stories that have a really interesting concept of digital fiction. I especially love the fairy tales section in which we can contribute with some details that transform the story.

O meu jardim / My garden

This is my little garden, full of aromatic herbs. I started with basil with some seed I bought in biocoop (I read a very funny article in Diário de Notícias and here) and as my father loves gardening eventually he offered me mint (ideal for salads, tomatoes, bleeding and ice tea) and thyme ( I use it to temper meat, vegetables and sauces). Speaking of food, usually with mint I prepare the "thé à la menthe" and the funniest thing is that this week-end I was in Feira da Serra in Tavira (Algarve) and bought some spices and tea (including mint tea) and then realized they had a website. I strongly recommend the mixture of salt with lemon.

Abanar os braços ou fazer tricot? Shake the arms or tricot?

A verdade é que ainda me estou a iniciar no tricot.

My nephew Martin constantly asks me when am I going to do "the thing that shakes the arms" (at the same time he simulates the gesture, looking like a chicken that seems to want to raise flight). The truth is that I am still introducing myself to knitting. After many scarves I finally decided to knit a sweater for my niece Marta (which is 3 years from June 21). Last time I went to New York I had bought spectacular wool in Purl in Soho, but when I started to make the sweater I realized that I hadn’t enough. As they are no longer ordering this wool (which is the Rowan Cashsoft Chunky) I found this site and now I eagerly wait.
I can’t resist to also showing my summer scarf made with Habu Bamboo Textiles. I found the yarn here, but also in this blog.
