In the country life has a different rhythm. This Easter beside the beans, the wild boar in the wood oven and baking the bread the activities also included shooting the target in a somewhat improvised target, as you can see by the cans and the lemon. When the gas pressure finished there was just one comment from Martin: "what bad luck." To be followed closely in the coming weekends. Meanwhile, the new / old house is already painted in white and waiting for good weather so we can invite our friends!
One of the new activities that I also want to do with Martin and Marta are the terrariums, which my mother says she has done whit us, and I have a huge curiosity and desire to join dinosaurs, giraffes and hippos to see what happens. I love these.

What Matters - Easter I

Looking for the perfect spot to put the new snail house. According to Martim: "it needs to have tall grass to protect the house against the wind and rain and to be a nice spot. The snail used to live in a place where there where potatoes and 'things' to eat and despite their slowness snails are smart".
My father planting the tomatoes, with Martim taking the photos still trying to figure out what's happening next.
With everything that happened last year (surprises and disappointments) I find myself more and more thinking about what really matters in life. Maybe that’s why I became more interested in seeing thing growing: my nephews first, of course, but also trees, plants or a simple sewing project. I think that growing is also a learning cycle for me and now I appreciate more the small things in life as a "simple" task of planting tomatoes or make a home for the snail that my nephew Martin found and that needs to withstand bad weather and have something that entertains the snail. The new McKinsey web site also seems to want to meet my unanswered questions and, ultimately, things start to fit again, despite I still feel I’m in different world.

Japan Again

And here I am again speaking about Japan... there are other countries where I want to go, but Japan continues to be high on the list and therefore we were there a second time in a space of 6 months. I know .... the world is bigger that this. But accordingly to the photos above, Japan remains a stimulus to creativity and we can get ideas and references from everywhere: the colors, how they work spaces and even the architecture, everything is significant and worth a note. Tokyo Midtown and Mori Art Museum are one of that things and it’s worth a trip to Roppongi. Also Nippori, with the famous store Tomato, can be a heaven to those who like fabrics.
Now, when I go to the office on foot, I seem to notice more the trees that have flowered and begin to think that is a bit strange that there is no one in the parks or that no one stops to take a picture to a new flower that has just bloomed. And, increasingly, I understand my father fascination for agriculture and the enjoyment that is to see (and to take care) that the trees, year after year, move from simple branches, to flowers or fruits. And it is also rewarding to hear my 5 year nephew, Martim, say with a very serious voice when I ask him about what he thinks about a specific tree: “You know, I don’t think this one will manage to survive, but we will see…me and grandpa are taking care of it".

Skirts and patterns

After 3 hours in the first day of the Sewing Course I managed to learn how to make a skirt pattern, the pattern for my skirt. I even cut the fabric, stitched and prepare it to try in the next class! Who knew.... Of course I also discovered that I have been forging all the possible steps in all the pieces I made until today ... no comment ...

O Grande Dia | The big day
