This was the jam weekend. On Saturday we made tomato jam and my nephews Martha and Martin had their hands full. Always under the supervision of my mother (which is in fact the only one that knows how to make jam), Martin showed a huge interest in weigh the tomatoes and sugar, getting to know what is a pound. Marta was more into getting her hands dirty and so she helped to remove the seeds before the tomatoes got into the pan. Parallel to all this while the jam was cooking we still had time to play tennis and to throw a few balls into the neighbor's yard. My mother does everything in the kitchem by heart, but the recipe is more or less this one, with less sugar.
